ABOUT GROUP FITNESS

We include group fitness classes in our memberships at The Weight Club to inspire and get people of all ages excited about fitness. We aim to provide a positive atmosphere where people strive for progress, not perfection. Our job is to lead our participants through challenging workouts to help them reach their fitness goals. The challenge can be to improve strength, cardio, or to be in a moment with total clarity and focus.

We have three studios for all of your group fitness needs. Studio A has state-of-the-art padded vinyl athletic flooring. This studio will host high-impact and strength classes. Studio B is where we have yoga, pilates, and more light-impact classes. Our Cycle Studio boasts 30 spin bikes with lighting to motivate you through the toughest workouts. We also offer online classes that members can access over 50 classes per week. The Group Fitness department is always listening to our members and following trends in the industry. We offer a variety of times to give you plenty of opportunities to get in a workout that suits your schedule.

OUR CLASSES

Cardio Step

Cardio Step is a class that primarily focuses on cardiovascular exercise by performing choreographed movements on and around a raised platform called a "step," targeting the lower body muscles while elevating your heart rate through various step-up, step-down, and side-stepping patterns, often accompanied by upbeat music and adjustable step heights to suit different fitness levels; essentially simulating stair climbing in a controlled environment with added variations for intensity. 

Absolute Core

Absolute Core is a fitness class specifically designed to intensely target and strengthen the entire core muscle group, including the abdominals, obliques, lower back, and sometimes even the glutes, through a series of exercises aimed at improving stability, posture, and overall functional strength; essentially focusing on sculpting and toning the core muscles to their maximum potential.

Les Mills Pilates

Les Mills Pilates is a 45-minute mind-body workout that focuses on slow, controlled Pilates movements with a strong emphasis on breath and mobility, aiming to improve core strength, flexibility, and overall body awareness through a flow of simple, targeted exercises, often set to music, while maintaining a sense of calm and upliftment; essentially, it's a modern take on traditional Pilates with a Les Mills twist on choreography and music.

Les Mills Body Step

Les Mills BodyStep class is a full-body cardio workout that primarily focuses on step movements, similar to walking up and down stairs, combined with squats, lunges, and other exercises to intensely target and tone the legs and glutes, while also incorporating elements like burpees, push-ups, and optional weight plate exercises for a complete body workout; it's known for its upbeat music and fun, energetic atmosphere, with options to suit different fitness levels, allowing participants to burn calories and improve coordination and agility.

Turn Up Dance Fitness

Turn Up is a combination of Dance Fitness, Strength & HIIT Training. It will be a place where you can focus on yourself so you can let out your inner baddie, while we take fitness to the next level and turn all the way up!

Dance Fitness

Get your heart pumping and your groove on in this high-energy dance fitness class that blends elements of hip-hop, salsa, and contemporary dance, designed for all levels to build cardio, strength, and coordination while having fun to upbeat music.

Alignment Yoga

Alignment yoga is a yoga practice that focuses on arranging the body correctly in poses and transitions. It's important for safety and effectiveness and can help you get the most out of your practice. Great for beginner yoga students or mature yoga participants.

FUNctional Friday

This grab bag of classes on Friday is meat to keep you guessing what’s coming next. Christine will rotate through several programs from Les Mills Tone, Les Mills BodyPump, Pumped Up Strength, Les Mills Core and maybe even a surprise TurboKick thrown in for fun! Every class will bring a different challenge so bring a water bottle and a great attitude. There will be options for every fitness level.

Yoga

Class will experience a practice incorporating breath work, attention to alignment, innovative use of props, creative sequencing and an emphasis on core body strength and awareness. While it can be physically challenging, this class is accessible and safe for practitioners of all levels.

Les Mills Thrive

This is the workout that meets you wherever you are on your fitness journey. A 45-minute low-impact session that helps you feel fit, strong and in control - whatever your fitness level. Moving at your own pace, you can improve lower body and core strength, flexibility, and balance. Expert coaching ensures you get the most from the science-backed exercises. You finish feeling empowered, happy and fit for life.

Les Mills Grit

Les Mills Grit™  is a 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength, cardiovascular fitness and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate and bodyweight exercises to blast all major muscle groups. Grit takes cutting-edge HIIT and combines it with powerful music and inspirational coaches who will be down on the floor with you, motivating you to go harder to get fit, fast.

Pop Pilates

In a full 55-minute POP Pilates® class, you'll experience a mix of modern, upbeat, and classical Pilates exercises all set to a heart-pumping playlist. Each song track has a different focus, including Total Body Opener, Hundreds, Crazy Cardio, Ab Challenge, Back Work, Thigh Burnout, Flexibility, and so much more!

Les Mills Tone

Les Mills Tone maintains the original 3 in 1 training style - a mix of cardio, resistance and core while playing with different training concepts to ensure everyone gets the best results from their workouts. If you want the optimal mix of strength, cardio and core training this is it. Step into a Tone class and you'll tick off a complete workout in 45 minutes. The challenging mix of lunges, squats, functional training and tubing exercises will help you burn calories and take your fitness to the next level. Also a great foundational class, Tone has a wide variety of options accommodating all fitness levels ensuring everyone leaves the workout feeling successful.

High Fitness

High Fitness is a full-body workout that combines cardio, toning, and strength training with music. It's a modern version of aerobics that's designed to be fun and healthy.  Bring your friends and experience old school aerobics in a modern day setting!

Pilates

Pilates is a series of low-impact exercises that focus on strengthening the core, improving flexibility, and increasing balance. Pilates classes typically last 45 minutes to an hour and are performed on a mat or with special equipment

Les Mills Dance

Les Mills Dance is a 45-minute high-energy workout that will challenge and move you. Each class includes 10 stand-alone tracks, with each introducing new choreography. The workout is anchored in 3 cardio peaks, a warm-up, and a cool-down. It combines innovative dance movements with the latest music to drive energy and motivation in every move.​ With a focus on movement and technique, Les Mills Dance is simple to master and a great option for those who want to improve their dance skills while getting fit or for anyone who loves to dance.


Taiji

Tai chi classes teach a series of slow, gentle movements and breathing exercises that are intended to improve balance, flexibility, and strength. Tai chi classes may also include instruction on posture and visualization.

Les Mills Strength Development

Les Mills Strength Development class is a structured weight training workout designed to progressively build significant muscle strength through a series of 12 focused sessions, utilizing heavier weights with lower repetitions compared to other Les Mills classes like BodyPump, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced lifters looking to significantly increase their strength and power; each workout focuses on specific training protocols like foundational strength, hypertrophy, and pure strength, with an emphasis on proper form and technique development.

Barre

Barre is a toning, body-weight-lifting workout. It engages muscles you wouldn't normally target—ones deep inside your body that squats, lunges and sit-ups don't reach. With high-reps and low-impact movements, barre challenges anyone looking to fine-tune their muscles—no ballet experience required.

Cycle

A cycle class, also known as a spin class, is a high-intensity cardio workout that involves riding a stationary bike in a group setting. We boast 15 different cycle instructors with all types of styles of teaching; pick a few classes and see which class you prefer! 

Les Mills Body Pump

Les Mills BodyPump is a barbell-based strength training workout that utilizes high repetitions with light weights to target and tone major muscle groups across the entire body, focusing on achieving muscle fatigue through a method called "The Rep Effect," making it suitable for various fitness levels while delivering a full-body workout with upbeat music; essentially, it's about getting toned and fit by performing many repetitions with lighter weights rather than lifting heavy loads.

Stretch and Meditate

This 20 minute class following Sprint on Fridays is designed to help you stretch a little extra and wrap up your week of exercise no matter what you’ve done. Held in the cycle studio, it can be done alone or after any workout as just a supplement to your regular workout or stretches.

Pilates

Les Mills Shapes

Les Mills Shapes is a low-impact, full-body strength workout that combines elements of Pilates, Barre, and Power Yoga, focusing on small, controlled movements to sculpt and strengthen all major muscle groups while improving alignment and flexibility, all set to modern music; essentially offering a targeted, intense workout without heavy weights, suitable for various fitness levels.

Cycle/Core

This 45 minute blend of spin class and core work will give you the perfect mix of cardio and core strength. Not just abdominal work, but you’ll work your glutes, obliques and back with bodyweight and hand weights. It’s the best of both worlds!

Les Mills Core

Inspired by elite athletic training principles, Les Mills Core™ is a scientific core workout for incredible core tone and sports performance. You build strength, stability and endurance in the muscles that support your core, improve balance, assist injury prevention, and become better at everything you do. All the moves in Les Mills Core have options, so it’s challenging but achievable whatever your level of fitness. During the workout, trained Instructors guide you through correct technique as you work with resistance tubes and weight plates, as well as bodyweight exercises like crunches, and hovers. Plus there are some hip, butt and lower back exercises too.

Strong

Strong is an hour long strength focused class led by a certified Personal Trainer. It combines the mobility, flexibility, and strength training of a traditional gym floor workout with the feel of a group fitness class. Workouts vary week to week and can easily be tailored to your individual needs.  

Les Mills Sprint

Les Mills Sprint ™ is a 30-minute High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout, using an indoor bike to achieve fast results. It's a short, intense style of training where the thrill and motivation comes from pushing your physical and mental limits.

Pumped Up Strength

Pumped Up Strength  is a high-energy resistance training workout that focuses on building muscle mass by utilizing combined movement patterns, often incorporating a mix of upper and lower body exercises, with a strong emphasis on progressive progressions and motivating music to keep you challenged and engaged throughout the session; essentially, it's designed to give you a "pumped up" feeling in your muscles by working them intensely with dynamic movements.

In person classes are limited to 25 participants in each large room and cycle studio. Classes are limited to 15 participants in the yoga room. Please register for classes on our app, available with your membership. Drop in attendace is admitted BUT not guaranteed as spaces are limited.
