ABOUT GROUP FITNESS

We include group fitness classes in our memberships at The Weight Club to inspire and get people of all ages excited about fitness. We aim to provide a positive atmosphere where people strive for progress, not perfection. Our job is to lead our participants through challenging workouts to help them reach their fitness goals. The challenge can be to improve strength, cardio, or to be in a moment with total clarity and focus.

We have three studios for all of your group fitness needs. Studio A has state-of-the-art padded vinyl athletic flooring. This studio will host high-impact and strength classes. Studio B is where we have yoga, pilates, and more light-impact classes. Our Cycle Studio boasts 30 spin bikes with lighting to motivate you through the toughest workouts. We also offer online classes that members can access over 50 classes per week. The Group Fitness department is always listening to our members and following trends in the industry. We offer a variety of times to give you plenty of opportunities to get in a workout that suits your schedule.

Absolute Core

Absolute Core is a low intensity class that targets and strengthens the entire core muscle group, including the abdominals, obliques, lower back, and glutes. Each class includes exercises that improve stability, posture and build functional strength. This class is recommended for all fitness levels.

OUR CLASSES

High Fitness

High Fitness is old school aerobics transformed into a modern, heart pounding, fun, and effective workout. Cardio and toning meet leg warmers with a side of air guitar. Consistency and simplicity are the key components of this format. Classes are easy to follow, keep you motivated, and will leave you wanting more. Suitable for all levels.

Les Mills BodyPump

Les Mills BodyPump, the “original barbell class”, is an ideal workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned, and fit - fast. Using light to moderate weight with LOTS of repetitions, this class gives you a full body workout and will have you singing along to the music while you sweat. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Les Mills Dance

Les Mills Dance is a 45 minute, high energy workout that includes 10 stand alone tracks, each introducing new choreography. The workout is anchored in three cardio peaks, a warm up, and a cool down. Focusing on movement and technique, Les Mills Dance is simple to master and great for anyone who loves to dance.

Barre

Barre is a low intensity, total body workout that blends the latest exercise science with the principles of the Lotte Burke method. This class delivers a fusion of ballet, pilates, yoga, and strength training with each workout. Barre is designed for a wide range of fitness levels, ages, and bodies. No ballet experience required.

Cycle

Cycle, also known as spin class, is a high intensity cardio workout focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, and recovery. Utilizing a stationary bike in the cycle studio, each class delivers a fun and fast paced workout to music. All fitness levels will enjoy the ride.

FUNctional Friday 

FUNctional Friday puts the FUN in functional training. This class rotates through Les Mills Tone, Les Mills BodyPump, PumpedUp Strength, Les Mills Core and maybe even a surprise TurboKick class on occasion. Each week, the class of choice will bring a different challenge so bring a water bottle and a great attitude. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar yoga is a practice that focuses on arranging the body correctly in poses and transitions. This practice is important for safety and effectiveness and can help you get the most out of your practice. This style is great for beginners and experienced yogis.

Les Mills Core

Les Mills Core is a scientific workout for incredible core tone and sports performance. Each class helps you build strength, stability, and endurance in the muscles that support your core, improve balance, and assist in injury prevention. This class is fun and challenging! All moves have options for every level of fitness.

Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar yoga is a practice that focuses on arranging the body correctly in poses and transitions. This practice is important for safety and effectiveness and can help you get the most out of your practice. This style is great for beginners and experienced yogis.

Les Mills BodyStep

Les Mills BodyStep combines step movements (walking up and down stairs) with squats, lunges, and other exercises that target the legs and glutes while also incorporating push ups, burpees, and optional weight exercises for a total body workout. This class is known for its upbeat music and energetic atmosphere. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Les Mills Grit

Les Mills Grit is 30 minutes of high intensity interval training (HIIT) designed to improve strength, cardiovascular fitness, and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weighted plates, and body weight exercises to blast all major muscle groups. Grit takes cutting edge HIIT and combines it with music motivating so you are motivated to go harder and get fit.

Cardio Step

Cardio Step combines choreography and upbeat music to deliver a heart pumping workout that elevates your heart rate and strengthens your lower body through various step-up, step-down, and side stepping patterns. Since step height is adjustable this workout is easily tailored to all fitness levels.

Les Mills Tone

Les Mills Tone is a mix of cardio, resistance, and core training. This 45 minute class uses different training concepts to ensure everyone gets the best results from their workouts. Through lunges, squats, functional training and tubing exercises, each class enables you to take your fitness to the next level. Options available and suitable for all levels.

Les Mills Sprint

Les Mills Sprint is a 30-minute High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout, using an indoor bike to achieve fast results. It's a short, intense style of training where the thrill and motivation comes from pushing your physical and mental limits. You combine bursts of max intensity with periods of rest that prepare you for the next effort.

Pilates

Pilates is a 45 minute low impact mind-body class that improves core stability, strength, and flexibility, and attention to muscle control, posture, and breathing. Pilates has been around for nearly 100 years and is great for beginners through advanced athletes. This class can easily be customized to your fitness level.

Pumped Up Strength

Pumped Up Strength is a high-energy resistance training workout focused on building muscle mass utilizing combined movement patterns, with a strong emphasis on progressive progressions and motivating music to keep you challenged and engaged through the class. Classes often incorporate a mix of upper and lower body exercises. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Pop Pilates

POP Pilates® is a fusion of core focused and total body moves choreographed to upbeat pop songs. This format takes classical Pilates to the next level. While most moves originate from classical Pilates, the class design, relationship with music, sequencing, and reps differ from traditional mat classes. Be prepared to experience Pilates in a new way.

Stretch & Meditate

Stretch and Meditate is a 20 minute class following Les Mills Sprint and is designed to help you stretch a little extra and wrap up your week of exercise feeling calm and grounded. Held in the cycle studio, this class can be done with Sprint or as a stand alone class to supplement your routine.

Turn Up Dance Fitness

Turn Up Dance Fitness is a high-energy, hip-hop inspired dance class that combines HIIT (high-intensity interval training) with dance. The program is designed to be fun, intense, and life-changing. This class helps you live out loud, embrace your greatness, and leaves you feeling empowered and confident. This class is great for dancers of all fitness levels.

Taiji

Tai chi classes teach a series of slow, gentle movements and breathing exercises that are intended to improve balance, flexibility and strength. Tai chi class may also include instruction on posture and visualization. From beginners to advanced athletes, this class is beneficial for everyone.

Yoga

Yoga is an hour long class where participants will experience a practice incorporating breath work, attention to alignments, innovative use of props, creative sequencing, and an emphasis on core body strength and awareness. Although this class is challenging, it is accessible and safe for all levels of experience.

Les Mills Functional Strength

Function Strength is a 45 minute class that builds power and athleticism in a fun, balanced, don’t think just do it kinda way. This series of full-body workouts mixes multi-joint movements and loaded exercises to build athletic strength, increase muscle tone, and push you to get fitter and stronger for everyday life. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Les Mills Limited Edition Classes

Limited Edition is a suite of science-backed workouts created by Les Mills to harness the power of fitness trends. These classes are 6, 12, or 24 weeks long and are designed to be progressive with each week so don’t just come once, come every week!

Les Mills Pilates

Les Mills Pilates is pilates re-imagined. This 45 minute mind-body workout combines traditional pilates movements with the magic of Les Mills’ movement to music to deliver a class that will leave you feeling strong, powerful, and calm. The emphasis on slow, controlled movements makes this class great for all fitness levels.

Les Mills Strength Development

Strength Development is a 45-minute class that heroes the essential elements of resistance training. Each workout focuses on developing fundamental strength elements in a balanced and consistent way. Using different training protocols including tempos and rep ranges, Strength Development will improve muscular strength, hypertrophy and power. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Les Mills Shapes

Shapes is an invigorating blend of Pilates, sculpt, and power yoga set to modern beats. With small, controlled movements, you sculpt and strengthen all major muscle groups, improve alignment and increase flexibility. It is a low impact but intense way to heat up your training. Options are available so it is suitable for all fitness levels.

Thrive

Thrive is a low-impact workout focused on building lower body and core strength, flexibility and balance. Each 45-minute workout combines a feel-good playlist, supportive coaching, and a community of people moving together. It is suitable for a range of fitness levels, from those needing balance support to those who prefer bodyweight or are ready to add resistance.

In person classes are limited to 25 participants in each large room and cycle studio. Classes are limited to 15 participants in the yoga room. Please register for classes on our app, available with your membership. Drop in attendace is admitted BUT not guaranteed as spaces are limited.
